similar program to windows media center

I have been having alot of problems with windows media center when I try to watch TV (not very sharp, will desync, become laggy/jittery) and I want to know if there are any other programs that I can watch TV through.

Media Portal. But if the picture is bad, it's probably not the software itself. Have you tried using the driver control panel to tweak the settings?

You might also want to make sure your running media center in your TV/monitors native resolution. If it's not, things could get blurry.

For some reason I cannot get past the necessary installation of WMP 11. It says that I need Media Center edition 2005 or later to install it.
