I was researching for new cases & found this from SilverStone The RV05 Interesting... would like to see the final product!

I dunno, looks like a step backwards from the RV02. It has only 7 expansion slots which is problematic if you like Crossfire/SLI. No 5.25" bays so you have to buy those expensive and slow slim optical drives, a major pain in the ass if you like to rip DVD/Blu-ray. On the upside it is a lot smaller so it will take up less space on the desk (rotated cases under desks are a bad combination).

Is it for matx? I would like to see this with complete setup, I still don't get the layout:confused:

i imagine the Fortress version would be interesting.

be nice to have the cooling and quality without a bunch of useless 5.25" drives uglifying up the front.

100x better than the RV04. I have actually had a similar design in my head for a while now (since when they released the RV03), but I considered having 2 full sized 5.25" bays pointed vertically rather than a slim drive. This case is about as close as it gets to my ultimate air-cooled case, so its a buy for me. The case layout is great, but the plastic outer shell needs some tweaking. But hey, that's what modding is for. Hopefully they remove the requirement for a slot-load slim line drive by the time they release it. Slot loads are much more expensive and in shorter supply than other slim drives (not unobtainable though), and this just seems like a money grab by Silverstone since they sell a slim slot load blu-ray drive. Either that or they didn't want to upset the already odd asthetics with a tray loading drive.

This is honestly fine for the Raven series, as they haven't been aimed at the absolute high end. That spot was reserved for the Fortress series.

For the Fortress version, they need to take the same basic layout, stretch it a bit by adding an 8th exp slot, a couple more HDD's or SSD's behind the motherboard, and add the capability for at least a couple full sized 5.25" bays so the high end guys have room for some WC gear, fan controllers, etc.

That looks very similar to what I want. Just drop the optical drive entirely (use a USB drive instead), do something about that horrible front (maybe for the FT version), add in 2x USB 2.0 ports top front, and SQUEEE!

That optical drive looks as if it could get in the way of larger heatsinks.
