Ok, so I'm running 14 monitors off of a FT02 case, and the monitors are almost all DVI. The video cards are almost all mini-displayport, and require active adapters. I tried buying extension cables for the mini-displayport to DVI adapters, to reach outside the case before attaching them. However, the cables when installed made it so the displays were not detected. The cables were 6 feet, and made by Monoprice.com. I didn't expect an issue originally, but I've thought of trying 3 foot extension cables instead, I doubt they would work though either. As it stands all my dvi adapters are in a big pile on top of the case, with no chance of installing the cover over them. Any suggestions?
My biggest problem is the case has a chance of something falling into it, without the cover on. A screw for example, could easily make it's way through the air holes above the pci slots. I don't want to block the air flow by laying a blanket over it or something, so as it stands my safest bet is to hide the whole case as far under the desk as possible, so nothing makes it's way onto the top of the case.
I don't know what would improve this situation, but I love the fact that my video cards are now running much cooler, low 40's C for FirePro 2460's.
EDIT: I just thought of something... maybe if I switched to mini displayport to HDMI active adapters (made by Accell) they would fit in there, with the lid on. They are pretty small. http://www.accellcables.com/product189.html
