Silly 1440p question

I bet this is dumb of me but I was thinking this last night. On my 1440p monitor while playing bf3 I got to thinking of the soldiers would be BIGGER on a 1080p display? I play on a 27 monitor. I switched my monitor in game to 1080p but since its not the native res I didnt think it looked right? Is this true or not?
 
Hi there. Unfortunately, that is not the case. When playing any 3D game, the 3D items will remain the same size relative to your screen, but the screen will just use more or less pixels to display them. The only difference you will notice is more pixelated edges and larger pixels, but since that is not your native resolution, they will look blurred (unless you scale it down and get black borders all around the image).

The 2D stuff however (menus, etc.) usually need to be resized or they will look bigger/smaller based on your resolution.
