Silencers for canucks...

any big difference between the NV Silencer 5 (6800Ultra/6800GT/6800) and the stock HSF?

I don't really see any benefit on getting this. It would void the warranty for one.

My BFG 6800 Ultra runs full load 70C @460/1220. I might consider water cooling later on though.

I also saw them listed at Coolerguys for 24.95, but thats US. Also I have heard preatty good things about it with regards to better cooling. The Ultra has a preatty good cooler already but I think the GT like I have will bennefit more from it.

it dropped my 6800gt load temp by about 18c. it won't make as big as a difference on the ultras b/c of it's already large cooling solution, but it works great for the gt's.

Ncix has the Arctic cooling Vga silencer revision 3 (for ATI) for $18 Cdn. Pretty good deal.

the review i saw shows little difference between stock 6800U fan and NV5 Silencer.

the GT does benefit tho.

i apologize, i can't find the link anymore on google. :(

awesome! i am definately going to buy one once i get the money. did anyone have to do any kind of lapping of the heatsink with these coolers? and if so can you give us some details or a link on how to do this. like what grit sandpaper to use. the proper procedure and such. thnx :)
