SIL 3114 backup?

Here's the problem. I use a Sil 3114 Raid controller on my board, I can easily export a backup file, but how the heck do I Import it back. I haven't found any program that uses migration tools that recognize the controller. I realize I will probly have to pay for it, but I wanna play around with Raid configurations. Really wanna try Raid 0, but until then gotta stick with 0+1. Any other folks got this chipset, that can shed some light?

I have Drive Image 7, that works great with IDE drives, but does not see the drive controller on my new board. The .bkf file is read via a floppy, but windows requires the Raid driver (also on floppy) to even recognize the controller. I don't want to waste the cash, if Ghost, or HDClone won't see the controller either. Surely someone has experience with this situation. With all the folks that mess with Raid 0, efficient back up of this array must be possible.

OK raid 0 is out regardless. Still havin a problem with migrating OS across this controller. Used Diskcheck from HDClone, and none of their versions will see the drives via the controller, not even the $1200 enterprise version. Read rumors that ghost might see the controller. No info at silicon image, addressed backing up via this controller. Finally broke down, and got a DVD burner on the way.

For all the video I do, It's hard to believe I've never bought a DVD burner.Newegg had a pretty good deal on Plextor PX712A's, (something else to learn to use). The initial objective is learning to slipstream my OS to DVD. Also wanna try Dual boot with exact copy of this OS on IDE channel. The problem still remains, with all of these potential solutions the learning curve is faily steep, for an old man. And in all cases, the controller has to be negotiated.

Why bother? The performance of this system with latest drivers, is astonishing for video conversion. 6 hours of work is accomplished in less than 2, that's the difference between my old P4 2.4A and my new P4@ 3.45(can't do video at 3.6). I built this rig for educational purposes as well video conversion. Thanks to Ice Czar, and others, I've already been forced to read hundreds of pages of enlightenment. I'm very happy with the performance of my Raid0+1 set-up. So much so, that I want to find a way to back it up. Yes, I can rebuild the stripe from the mirror, but I want a fully tweaked version available when I crash the mirror ( and I will, typical fresh install required every 8 wks using IDE drives). Processing 1-2 TB of video data every month will do that to a computer.

Any links on "reliable" slipstreaming, Multi-OS, and OS migration would be appreciated.

WooHoo Drive Image 7 has an F6 portion if you watch closely. Loaded the driver floppy on prompt and it detected my array. Read files from the array, making progress. Still would appreciate sources for how-to's for the above mentioned needs. Now that I know slipstream exists, gotta do one. Just because. Us sheep wanna know how, well, the curious of us anyways. I bought this software from Powerquest, Norton bought them out. Might be some good stuff. I hope.

really? I didnt know that
generally I just qoute this

Successfully imaging a RAID drive is dependent on the specific computer model, driver controller, hard drive, and RAID implementation. Symantec provides the following information only as an aid to cloning RAID drives.

Ghost Compatibility with RAID
where they mention a few possible workarounds

and mention that most backup aps that can successfully image more complex arrays run $900 :p
Symantec V2i Protector® Server Edition
