I recently took the laptop HDD out of my laptop to put into my desktop. Its a Fujitsu 120gb sata drive.
Now i was too lazy to format it before i stuck it in my desktop, which is probably asking for trouble. It is setup in 2 partitions both ntfs. Partition c: has windows installed the other is just data (which i have backed up so i can lose it no problems there.) There is no admin password on the windows install, but both partitions are in ntfs format.
Upon booting up my desktop the bios sees the hard drives, as soon as windows loads i got the "new hardware found" and then the hard drive was recognized by windows. I can see the drive listed in the device manager and everything is fine.
The problem is when I run the disk management, the drive will not show up. I tried booting off my XP pro sp2 cd to see if the setup would find the disk, it did but said It couldn't access the drive.
So my question is, is their anyway I can somehow get this drive formatted without throwing it back in my laptop (laptop is currently taken apart)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
