Is there a way to avoid having to plug/unplug the fan power cable every time I take my side panel off? Any commercial or DYI solutions?
 
There was a tutorial on another modding site about using a RJ-45 (phone) plug and jack for wiring the side fan, so it was only plugged in when the side panel was on. I'll see if I can find it. Off to the intertubes.

HAHA I was thinking the EXACT same thing. Damned weird slidy doors. Although personally I am not going to try to make it fit like that. Since it sits flush except for a 3" slide, I am just going to place some keystone jacks where they are visible during the slide, but not later, and then plug it in, and slide it shut. When you slide it to open it it, the cable is long enough that you can fully slide it, but have the cable still plugged in and accessable. Easy to remove, and you don't have to worry about it coming loose. Although, I would not put a fan on cat5e. Seems a bit much over those teency 26AWG cables... I am just sticking to a large quantitiy of LEDs.
