si-120 + conroe (adaptor needed?)

I am currently using a 939 system and a si-120. The backplate that shipped with my si-120 worked fine for my mobo but I have heard that I need a special adaptor (assuming one other then the 1 that came with my si-120..) for the 775 conroes. Is this true? Do si-120's normally ship amd-ready only?

I don't use a Si-120 but maybe this is what you need http://www.frozencpu.com/scan/se=CPU Cooling/se=Thermalright/mp=menu_search.html towards the bottom...the Thermalright LGA775 bracket.

There are two versions of the SI-120, the K8 and S478 version(which both of us have) and the LGA775 version, which comes with a special bracket. Since the K8 version doesn't come with the bracket, you do need to buy it separately.
