after numerous messages back and forth with corsair, i've come to the conclusion that although they produce GREAT ram.. their tech support and their "ram guy".. are morons. they have told me that the only ram they offer which will work in the SX38P2 Pro is their 667mhz "value select" ram. *rolls eyes*. the specs for the barebones kit itself specifically states it handles 800 and 1066 by OC. what i'm trying to find out is if anyone has had any luck squeezing the corsair 2x2gb dominator pc-8500 kits into this barebones system.. or the corsair 4x1gb pc-8500 dominator kit.. into the same barebones system. i'm wondering if there is not only physical room.. but when paired with a q6700 processor, if the ram will run at the full 1066mhz or if the psu/mb limits the ram to only 800mhz? i've already read numerous reports that the 80 plus cert'd PSU will push 2 x 3870's in crossfire .. so that's the least of my worries. i am however worried about this ram issue.. as most online resellers are kinda snots about returning something that's not physically defective however just doesn't seem to suit your needs. i would normally just go with another brand if this were for a customer's system.. but for my own stuff, i generally prefer corsair. any input on this??
