shuttle problem

I just bought a SB65G2. Installed 2x 256MB DDR400 (Kingston), 1 80 GB HD (WD800JB), 1 Lite-On DVD-R, and a P4 2.8C, and a Radeon 9700pro

when i turn on the system without the radeon's floppy connecter, it turns on and the card halts it asking the floppy connecter be attached.

when i attach the connector and power on (this is after removing the power cable from the power strip that it's connected to below my desk) the lights blink for half a second and then the system doesnt even post or do anything.

Has anyone experienced this issue? any ideas what might be causing this problem?

return the video card for a new one(depending on where you bought it). Yeah and 9700pro??!?! ru joking you might want to reconsider for the chipset, it seems to have far more features, and you could probably mount a heatsink or if poss a water cool if u have. Only if compatible with ur motherboard. But most likely since you already stuck the card in WITHOUT floopy connect, it might of read and logged it. And thats why its halting you, so mis communitcation, read the instructions before you start pluggin' crap in. take close watch when your dealing with this stuff, not to sound allretarded, but im mean for spending more than $200, i wouldn't want chances in the way to screw up my purchase.

um, i've been building systems for a few years (12). I've been using the 9700pros for many months. I unplugged the power connector because the aiw has a fail safe device, which allowed me to acertain the cause of the issue is the paltry 220w ps in the shuttle. Apparently the 250w handle the AIW cards better, but the 220's just cant handle the power draw a post.

solution? 9600xt on its way.

Dang, wish you would of waited just a bit longer. I know what your problem is. I have the same system just the reflexion version and a 9700 Pro. Take the memory DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay to 3 and it should power up just fine.

The 865G has known issues with DDR400 memory speeds.
 
i still have the card, i'll buy another one tomorrow (as the SB52G2 doesnt have ob video... gruble), see what the timing is and see if i can change it

last i remeber, the problem is not that the powersupply cant run it, but that the initial power draw is heavy, and the powersupply shuts off, shuttle can disable the powersupply protection, and you wont have any problems or you can get the new ps. its a very nice ps, and sound wise its very silent.

by the way it was only in some 9500/9700/9800 revisions, that this problem showed up.
