Take back my pc4000. I bought it at best buy out of impulse becuase it was onsale but since I am running an AMD system I can't really use the extra Mhz but I could use better timings. Would I be better off to take it back and get some LL ram or is it not the big of deal? Also would best buy even take it back? Its opened but it and the boxes and paper work are in mint condiction

tighter timings would give you best performance in an AMD rig. somethin arouns 3200 or 3500 wold be best. corsair LL series ver 1.1 BH-5 or Mushkin LvL 2 3500 would kick ass .

PC4000 with an AMD rig is worthless. the loose timigns will kill ya.

so i say get some PC3200 or PC 3500 and run tight timings.

yes best buy should take it back no problems. just repackage it.

just my opinion

thats what I figured, I should have checked over my purchase more, They take computer parts back within 14days right? Even if their are opened?

Just lowering timings from 2.5-3-3-7 or so to 2-2-2-6 can change your performance anywhere from 3-5% in things that take timings into account. Gaming is the major area where timings play a key role in performance.

Plus it was in my shuttle sn41g2. It would not want let me make my 2500+ boot as a 3200+ at all. I put in a single stick of corsair 3200 and it works fine. With the hyperx it would not want to boot all the time or it would lower my FSB all the way to 50mhz sometimes and say I had a 550mhz athlon.
I think I am gonna take back this hyperx. Anyone have experience with best buys return policy?

I think BB change a restocking fee. So, either exchange them or sell them.
