Should I upgrade?

Current: 22" 1680 x 1050 (V7)

Looking to purchase: 23" 1920 x 1080 (Acer)

Just by looking at the resolution and not the name brand, will I notice any difference visually when playing PC games? I'm thinking the resolution is not that big of a difference and therefore I shouldn't upgrade. Would it be worthwhile to upgrade to a monitor with a resolution of xxxx X 1200? If so, what would be a good cheap monitor?

I like 16:9 monitors because I can play console games and watch (many) Blu-rays / DVDs without black bars (obviously 4:3 and scope films still have bars). All 1080p native displays will display 1920x1080 right, which is not always the case with 16:10 (i.e. make sure you check that a 16:10 monitor you are considering has proper scaling). For pure computer use with no video watching, I'd say 16:10 is probably better.

As for the step up from 22 to 23, imagine another monitor the same height as your current monitor, just a little wider. That's the difference.
