Hey guys I am thinking of upgrading been using 3ds max and rendering has been really slow.
The reason is rendering doesn't use video card its all cpu intensive.I been looking at my system almost been a year and half and my system hasn't been cleaned.I see some mold in the tubbing so I thought its time to upgrade as I tear it all apart again :(

E4300 3.2ghz
Evga 680i
Evga 8800gts
Crucial ballistix 2gb 444 1066
Lan li 2000
 
As much as I hate to say it, a Q6600 would be a huge upgrade since you do a lot of rendering, if 3ds max support quad. Which I'm sure it does.

An e8xxx would suffice if you were just gaming, and would give you better results. e7xxx if your just a web clicker with minor games.
 
Yes I use Vray all the time and its super slow on my dual. I am looking at the q6600 on Ebay is the G0 currently still the best overclocker.I am scared looking at my pc I have no idea how I am going to take those blocks off there were almost impossible to put on.:confused:
 
This was the first water cooling setup I done and the 680i chipsets are really close together I actually cracked the south bridge the first time I tried installing it.I couldn't tell if I was making good contact. In addition to the lan li it was a nightmare. Anyways I'm going for the q6600 and doing some new modding to the pc. First time posting pics fyi.
