Should I go with Intel or AMD?

I was in the same dilemma but after seeing the 7700k performance and reading more about AMD Zen, I made the move to get a skylake CPU. 7700k doesn't offer hardly any IPC imrpovements and Zen looks to compete with skylake but you'll end up waiting another half year.
 
Honestly, at this point Intel's domination in the CPU market is well entrenched. Although Ryzen might catch up to Intel in IPC performance, you have to consider the platform benefits at hand. Intel specific technologies may be more beneficial for the applications that you use and offer a better platform for future development, even if the upgrade path won't be as defined as a system with an AM4 socket (at least considering AMD's tendency to stick with a socket).

Isn't Ryzen launch 17 Jan 17? Doesn't sound too long to wait. That is if there is plenty of supply available.
