Should I be doing this?

Main Rig:
i7 920 D0 @ 4ghz
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2
6gb Corsair Obsidian XMP Series ram
Corsair 1000HX modular psu
x2 1TB WD Caviar Black Drives
XFX 5770

Network Setup:
Cable modem > D-Link DIR 655 > GXP2000 SIP phone > My PC

Future Network Setup:

Cox Business Line > D-Link DIR 655 > GXP2000 SIP phone > My PC
Personal Cox Line > WRT54GS > FreeNAS > 3-6 Wireless Clients.

In this setup, my torrenting is on my personal line and only affecting the speed of whoevers over using my wireless and keeping my work stuff separate. However, would it be smart to plug in my freenas box to the work line too for redundancy?

Here is my plan!

I'd like to run a freeNAS box off my network and use it for everything. It'll be my storage/torrent bitch.

Buy a SSD to replace all hard drives in my rig and only run one OS/Boot drive.

Build FreeNAS Box /w 6TB of storage running off 1gb USB stick headless in my computer dungeon.

Mobo

I'd like to access ALL of my data/day to day stuff via the NAS. Will it feel slow while editing powerpoint/photoshop stuff directly off the network?

I'd also like to incorporate an HTPC into the mix soon running Mythbuntu. Will Mythbuntu be able to access my freenas box to stream etc? Will I be able to record TV directly from my HTPC running Mythbuntu to my freenas box?

Essentially, if it's data/music/movies/tv and not part of my OS.....I want it on the freenas box ONLY.

Is all of this worth it? -.^

The setup looks pretty good except for editing directly over the network. Powerpoint may be ok if you are dealing with slides with just text, but I'm pretty sure Photoshop will have some issues working with the limited bandwidth of ethernet. To help things, you could put your FreeNAS box on the D-Link so that you will at least have a gigabit connection between the PC and NAS. For the TV recording, you should be able to mount a FreeNAS share on the Mythbuntu box and record directly to it, so that should be fine. My suggestion is to get a 500GB-1TB data drive for your main PC in addition to the SSD and have it backup the data to the FreeNAS box daily.

Thanks for the feedback!

Do you know if I would set the Mythbuntu box up as a back-end or a front-end to mount a freenas share? I'm assuming front-end?

You would run the Mythbuntu box as a combo back-end and front-end, mount a share using samba, NFS, or something else, and set MythTV to record all recording to that mounted directory. I believe it is possible to run mythbackend on the FreeNAS box, but it would be much less hassle while still providing the same effect to use the Mythbuntu box for both.

if my router is 10/100/1000Mbps and the lan on my mobo is 10/100/1000Mbps, I can assume I'll get gigabit speeds on this thing around 40-50mbps transfers?

No. Ultimately, you'll be limited by the bandwidth offered by your ISP. Your Cox business line may offer you faster speeds, compared to your "home" line, but I doubt that you'll be reaching Gigabit speed/bandwidth.
