Hi guys,
I'm an avid PC gamer looking for a 1080p screen that will also be set up with media center + satellite TV. Having discovered the Westy 37, I'm adamant I have to have a screen this size. However, the Westy is out of the question because they do not ship outside the US/Canada and I don't want to pay import duty + potentially hundreds of pounds to ship the thing back should it go wrong.
My only choices so far seem to be the Sharp 37XD1E and the Sony 40W2000. The sony costs more and I'm worried the extra size will mean at 3 feet away I'll be too close. I work as a software engineer and write a lot of code at home and was wondering, if any of you 37" owners, have any problems working with small text etc ?
The other problem is the fact neither have DVI! the plonka's put VGA PC inputs on them, meaning I'll have to get a DVI-HDMI converter cable...
So 2 questions really:
1) Anyone seen the Sharp 37XD1E and have an opinion on it?
2) What are screens that big like for normal 8 hour a day coding/general office work?
