Sharp 19" LCD - $499?

For all those in the San Diego area this morning, you may have seen the Fry's ad this morning. It shows a Shard 19" LCD for $500, with this description:
1280 x 1024 Native resolution
500:1 Contrast Ratio
16ms Rasponse Time
Integrated Stereo Speakers

Anyway, it's 500 bucks, with a $230 instant gift reabate, so is that a good buy?
I mostly play games, so the 16ms seems pretty good for that. Should I get it now?

Some people doesn't like. (mostly people with very good CRTs).

I'd get a nec 22" FP2141-SB CRT before a 19" 16ms LCD !

Yes it's a good buy, but the monitor has no dvi port. Only analog.

x800 pro has dvi, doesn'y it? And 2 more things:
1.How much more would a 19" LCD w/ 16ms or lower cost?
2.Just a feud with my brother: LCDs look a whole lot better than CRTs, don't they?

LCD with a good response time = > CRT
16ms is a good response time, and you should get some good play out of it. i would diffineatly get the lcd, i hate my fucking 19' CRT, so big and hot!

How much better does an LCD look with or without dvi?
Is it really noticably better, or should I grab this LCD now?

This Sharp is awesome for games. I've had it for 2 weeks and i think this is the best LCD for games. Even better than Samsung 12ms 172x. Display is very sharp. The only thing is that it is analog but who cares if you will use it for games.
