Well Im upgrading my system, Right now I run:
A cheap Gigabyte MB
AMD 2400 (running at 1800 cuz mobo is lame)
512 Giel Ram
cheap cpu cooler (loud!)
2 hard drives
6600 GT
and a gigantic thermaltake case (Xaser III)

by no means a beast but it runs Daoc ok and thats all i need it for, however its LOUD! and big and I hate the window (it was cool for the first 5 min)

Now I recently have had a few things come up and I now have some money I cna spend on a new rig but I cant decide (or find definate awnsers) to alot of questions Ive been having so heres what Ive priced out so far...

case: SG01-b from silverstone
CPU: 3200+ AMD 64 Venice (socket 939)
Mobo:???? cant fnd any I really like
Vid Card: 6600 GT AGP
Ram: same 512 Giel
or I can spend the money I save on the difference between the sg01 to the Qpack on parts and get this:

Case: Qpack Black Windowless
CPU: AMD 64 3700+ clawhammer (socket 754!?)
Mobo: ??? (again cant find any that seem to be decent)
Vid CCard: 6600 GT AGP
Ram: possibly the 512 but I may stretch budget to grab a stick of 1gig crucial

so whats my best option? Shuttles are not an option, I cant stand propietary parts
I think Its going to be the 2nd one overwhelmingly but will it be quiet?
Can any one direct me towards decent SFF Mobo's?
also will the SFF cases allow me to fit my seasonic PSU in there? (will 220 watt be enough for this rig?)

You will need a better PSU. Id recommend atleast a name brand (Ocz, Antec, Seasonic) 450+ watt.

Id suggest upgrading to PCI-E if you plan on using a 939 chip. There are one or two mobos out there that are 939 and AGP, but good luck tracking one down. The Jetway 210GDMS is very good IMO, but I would wait till DFI comes out with their enthusiast (sp?) mATX board.

Hey, do you know when that enthusiast DFI mobo will be out? :p

I need to build my comp b4 college starts and I'm wondering when it's gonna come out. School starts on the 29th.
