mATX mobos are so small that if i use a dual slot vid card and a sound card, there will be no room for a physics card. PPUs will eventually become mainstream and does this means that sff users will be at a disadvantage?
 
Well, of course it will always be more difficult to fit more expansion cards into a SFF than a standard ATX mobo, but it really depends on how your board is set up. For instance, on my Biostar TForce, my 7900GTX covered one of the PCI slots, leaving only one open - for my sound card. However, behind the GTX, there was still a PCI-E x1 slot open. On my current Foxconn, there is no PCI-E x1, but instead 3 PCI slots in front of the PCI-E x16. Two of them are accessable, even with a dual slot cooler.
 
In order for PPU's to become mainstream they will probably have to become integrated into the video cards themselves.

Don't fall for PPUs as standalone hype. How about an add-on math co-processor? lol

The first 3D cards were also add-on pci cards with a pass-through cable, that you used in conjunction with your 2-d video card.

I'm all for PPUs, but there is only one yet and it looks to be failure. Worry about the space when the time comes.

In any case, you could use a dual slot vid, sound card and PPU if you buy a motherboard designed the right way. The Radeon Xpress boards have the PCI-E x1 slot on the right side: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI...XPRESS+200+Micro+ATX+AMD+Motherboard+-+Retail I don't know what nVidia was thinking when they set up their reference design the way they did.

That someone some time in the future would make something worth while to put on the 1x slot. That people would actually use.
