severe connection slow downs/connection drops on DLink Di-524

for some reason the DI-524 that i bought from best buy yest. droped connection this morning and since then turned on for like 1 min and off again. i had the same type of problem with the new linksys compact G router. so i figured id try a D-link and still the same problem. i have 2 Pcs connected to the network and both of them have the connection issue. what could be wrong?
 
When you say turned on then turned off again, do you mean you are losing power to the router, it is losing LAN connectivity, or it is just dropping your cable/dsl connection?

Do you experience similar issues when connecting your broadband straight into one of the computers?
