Hi all,

Just forked out £400 for a second 2GB VaporX 5870 for the middle rig in my sig.

In the UD5 motherboard the PCIe 16x slots have only one slot between them which leaves a fag-paper's space between the two cards when installed.

even in my FT02 i can hear the fan of the obscured card ramping up to higher and higher sopeeds when i have never them before.

am i scuppered, is crossfire a no-no for me?

You can get a spitfire since it protrudes out and put it on the top card. This way the heat from bot card wont affect the top nor choke it.

I would say try and put the second card in the bottom slot, but it looks like you'd need an 8-slot case to do that with the UD5. Unfortunately, I think you're out of luck other than replacing the heatsink on the overheating card with something better.
