I'm using the sound with my motherboard

I'm using one of the outputs to connect to my mixer so I can play the music through my sound system which is working fine. The problem is the window's sounds. They play just as loud as my music is playing. Is there anyway I can lower the window's sounds without lowering the volume of my music. I know I can change the sounds to "no sound", but I want the sounds, just not as loud. I'm playing the music using iTunes. Thanks for all the help.

Switch to Foobar2000 and use kernel streaming as the output method you should also resample to 48k....

(kernel streaming allows you to turn down the normal windows sounds via the wave slider without effecting the audio level)
 
I don't see kernel streaming as an output method. All I see is Primary Sound Driver and Realtek HD Audio rear output.
 
I cannot think of a single reason why Kernal streaming doesn't work for you.
Does foo_out_ks.dll load correctly?
(go to preferences and click the component libraries tab to see if it loads)

You can also try the ASIO4all plugin but I have never tried that with a onboard solution so....
