just got a rebel xt for $100 and am noticing some spots/dust when i look through the viewfinder. i'm the definition of noob when it comes to digital slr cameras. is there anything i can do to fix this? also on some photos i notice red dots on what i would call the left and bottom point of a crosshair. they're located perfectly where a crosshairs lines would end. hope that makes sense. thanks in advance, angelo

Sensor dust do not show up in the viewfinder. They show up in your pictures, especially, if your shots were taken with F8 or higher. How to clean sensor dust off the sensor? As long as you don't notice them in your shots (they show up as a little dust bunnies), leave it along. If you don't know how to clean the sensor, you can scratch it and would literally need to toss out the camera. A sensor replacement would cost you about $300. You may as well buy a new body. The easiest way to clean it is to use a Rocket Blower, not the little one with brush at the end. Beware not to touch the sensor with the tip of the blower. Blow at the sensor couple of times. Dust in our viewfinder? Just use same method.
