i was looking at the sennheiser pc135 usb and was wondering what people thought of them

also

does anyone know of a place that has them in stock

newegg is out of stock, but has them for 57.99, which is a great price

TIA

well i just recently purchased the pc155 usb (which is supposed to be better than the 135s i guess) off pcmall.com for $79. i cant say i was very impressed. the main selling point for me was the USB because i could just plug them right to the front of my case (cant get my front mic port to work), but the sound from using the usb adapter was wayyyy to quiet. i could barely even hear playing counterstrike.

however...once i removed the USB adapter and just plugged it in to the back of my pc it was MUCH better. the mic is EXCELLENT quality, and the sound was significantly better. i highly recommend the headphones, just maybe the non-usb models (much cheaper, same great quality). there may be ways around this, im no expert, im just telling you my experience.
still a huge fan of sennheiser!

No, PC150 is EXACT same as PC155 except that it doesn't have the USB adapter or integrated sound card. I have the PC150's (got'em for $35 from www.ecost.com) and I love them. They are great headphones and a heatset. The microphone is extremely clear and the audio is great connected up to my SBA2 ZS. I highly recommend them and for $35 they are a steal! Very comfortable (might not be at the very beginning) and I can wear these for hours without noticing them.

I'm getting really sick of screwing with mics, but would hate to give up my Beyer 770's for anything. Anyone have both the Senn headset and another fun closed phone?

I used to have an old plantronics headset. Even tho the sq wasn't the greatest, the mic next to my mouth was SO convenient.

:(

I have the PC-135 with the USB adaptor and it sounds great, plays nice and loud if I turn it all the way up and I guess the mic is pretty good since the people on CS:Source can understand me when I am talking.
I got my set from Newegg about a month ago.

I chose the USB one so that I could just plug it into my Keyboard since I can't get to the back of the PC very easily.

I have seen people use a heatset such as the PC-150 strictly for the mic. They leave it on there neck with the mic pointing upwards to their mouth. They then have a separate headphone for hearing. I guess they want higher quality headphones.

well i think i should post this...
i tried my pc155s on my brothers pc and they for some reason dont have the problem of being too soft like they are on mine, they sounded loud and clear just like without the usb adapter.. so i semi-retract my previous negative comments about them. ill try to figure out what the exact reasoning of this is ok :)

i have the pc150s, and senn 497s..

i'd recommend the 150s anyday. esp for that price.

the mic is great and the sound quality is pretty good for that price. above any other headset.

i could go on the 497 sound quality, or other headphone quality.. but for gaming it matters less.

497=pc150 in gaming.. music is a different story. but with pc150 you get the mic.

i use my pc150s for music as well, and dont bother with the 497s cuz they are close enough and about equal for the music i listen too (rap), in acoustic or classical the 497s and higher end shine.

pc150s for games (hands down).. grado or alessandro for music (hands down), at least rap/techno/rock which most of us listen too.
