Ok, so my dad just sprung a surprise on me. He dug out an old pair of Sennheiser HD-414 headphones, "Made In Germany". Apparently, they are a relic of his US college days or something. Any more info on these? Does anyone out there have a pair? I'm getting an adapter to convert the 3.5"->1.8" minijack this afternoon, so I'll be able to try them on at that time.

Ohh.. and I see they were introduced in 1968?
 
They are not can bad even by todays standards... what's even better is you can still get replacement parts for them.
And they still command decent prices on ebay if they are the re-issued ones.
 
Ah. But they are the originals. Anyway, I'm keeping them for my dad, he's been complaining ever since I bought the 497s.
