Sometimes when i run active smart 2.42....it finds an error with the Seek time performance.i can rescan the drive tho and everything is fine.threshold is 187,value is 249 and the worst is 247.should i be worried?it also shows a date of july 05 in the tec section.the harddrive is a maxtor diamondmax 10 250gb with 16 meg cache.the harddrive is only a few days old,but seems to be running fine

It’s possible to get a “seek time” error which is quite a bit different from a “seek error”. Unless you have data corruption or other problems just use the drive and stop trying to see how fast it is ;)
