I'm thinking of adding a second hard drive to my system. I've got a 200 gig sata drive now, but there isn't much room left. Can I just buy another sata drive and hook it up and it work? Does it have to be the same size, smaller or larger? Does it have to be the exact same drive? I built my computer, but I clueless in this area. Sorry for all the dumb questions. Thanks for the help.

chances are:
you can buy any drive in the world that is Sata or Ide.
if you ahve only 1 sata drive, then i would guess that you have at least one more free sata port.
1 sata port = 1 drive
1 ide port = 2 drives
look up in your mobo specs (or just open up the side)

Size of the drives only matters when you are planning on building a RAID array.
Other than that - get as big a drive as you can afford.
Then do this:
Turn off the power to your computer and unplug it from the wall.
Mount the drive into the spare drive cage position.
Plug it into the extra SATA port. Might need to get a cable.
Plug in an extra power connector - retail drives come with SATA to molex power adaptors.
Re-Assemble your case.
Plug it back into the power outlet.
Power on!
Boot into Windows
Right click on "My Computer"
Scroll down to "Manage" - Click it!
Under "Storage" you'll see "Disk Management" - Click it!
The right hand window will show all of your Drives.
Right Click the Black Bar next to "Disk 1"
Select "Create Partition"
Right Click the new partition.
Select "Format"
Above the drive bars it'll show the status as "Formating" and a percentage.
When it's complete the bar will turn blue and you can exit out and start using your new drive.
This is also where you can change your drive letters and stuff.
Be careful though - if you cange your CD/DVD drive's letter some stuff might spaz out on your because of changing the drive letter.
