Hey guys,

Ok, i'll try and make this as quick and short as possible.

I purchased a SATA/120GB Barracuda drive two months ago, within about a month i started getting wierd noises and freezes, the noise would be like a grindy squeek, then it would stop and it would reverse (sound like it anyway). And in Windows I'd get this in the event log:

The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort0, did not respond within the timeout period.
and
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.

Now, I got a replacement ( brand new from work, so not refurbished ) and it's a month later and it just started doing EXACTLY the same thing.

Am I missing something? Or is something else killing them?

System Specs:

ABIT IC7-MAX3
P4 2.6C @ 3.3
4x256MB Mushkin PC3500 Level 1, 2-2-2-5
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 120GB/SATA
Seasonic Tornado 350W Power Supply
Gainward 6800GT Golden Sample

I don't see how lower psu could kill the drives? I didn't have the 6800GT before the first drive died.

Does anyone have any ideas?
