So the drive worked when it came out of the box. My girlfriend put some pictures and thigs on it. Today she gave me a call saying it doesn't work.

I tried it on my computer and I hear the drive spin up and i hear some clicking.
The drive then proceeds to spind down and the clicking continues.

It sounds like the heads are trying to move but keep falling back into their starting position or something. Almost like the drive doesn't have enough power.

Drive dead? I don't want to return it with her data on the drive.
am i boned or what?

Found the problem. It was the power supply.
12 volt supply was only outputting 11.5 volts with out load.

I had another 12v supply and tried that. Drive spun right up and all is well.

Look's like seagate is shipping their stuff with inferior supplies.
