Hey guys, so there was a storm the other night...I'm not sure if it caused the problem or not though. I can't really recall if it was doing it before or not. Anyway, I was installing Vista and I noticed that one of my drives sounded like it kept turning on and off. It would make the startup "click" and I could hear it spinning down and stuff. I have 5 drives in the case, so wasn't really sure which one it was. I think I narrowed it down to a 7200.10 750GB Seagate. It always has been a bit of a loud drive, but I think it's dying. The thing is, I'm not 100 percent sure that's the problem.
The clicking happens every so often and at first I thought I had too many drives on one cable coming from my power supply. It was strange, I touched and moved the cables around and the drive was clicking on and off alot. So, to the point...does this sound like a failing drive? I know it's hard to tell without actually seeing or hearing it. So then I'd like to know..is there a program to run and tell me like if one of my drives shuts down for a second or something like that? This way I could pinpoint the problem for sure and not be sending a drive to Seagate for no reason.
