OMFMGMMGFMGMFMGFMGM worst fucking drives ever made I hope they fucking go out of business....another 3 tb drive filled with games down the fucking drain (2 so far).

Yeah, the OP is acting like there is not a wealth of actual, scientific evidence that proves beyond a doubt that seagate drives are easilly the worst, and in many categories set the standard for unreliability.

Sorry to hear about your struggles OP. When I shop for drives, my mind simply filters out anything I see with the word 'seagate' on it. Simply put: Seagate are not the cheapest because in my mind they do not exist. No more drive failures now.

Bet you wish you'd spent that extra $10 on literally any other brand.
 
I have 12x Seagate 3TB hard drives...and have been running them nearly 24/7 for 5 years with no issues.

Oh yeah, they're Constellation ES.2 SAS drives...maybe Enterprise-grade drives really are better quality...;)

That said, I wouldn't touch Seagate's consumer lineup with a 10 foot pole...;)
 
I've likely been lucky. Many of my Seagate drives have been in use 7+ years, with zero failures to date. But I am not a typical example. All of mine were purchased at rhetoric same time though, same retailer.
 
I've had 2 segate drives in the past, and exactly 2 of them died on me. 100% failure rate in my book.

I also have some Maxtor and Western Digital drives on year 15 and a HGST drive on year 5 all without a hitch. Probably WD or Hitachi for my next buy.
 
Haven't used Seagate in over 6 years -- glad that I didn't go with them. I prefer HGST at this point for mechanical HDs.
 
That's news to me..... Seagate 1.5gb drive running fine and dandy in my rig for years - since this size first came out. If it died tomorrow it doesn't owe me a thing.

I have around 100 4TB SATA Constellation drives and around 200 4TB & 6TB SAS Constellation drives running over 4 years and I think 2-5 have failed in that time.
