Seagate Barracuda, any good?

I just ordered 2 of the internal 120GBs so I sure hope so! lol

fubak, you can edit your posts instead of posting twice, btw.

raygan_gamer... I have half a dozen of those drives (as well as a couple 300GB/250GB from the same line) and they're great! They were on sale for $60 in-store at fry's as well as online at frys.com with free shipping.

My oldest one is over a year old with no signs of problems.

I swear by Seagate Barracudas. Been using them for around 3 1/2 years, reliable and pretty quiet.

I took a chance with their 7200.10 SATATII series that has 16mb cache and I love it (320gb). It's very fast, very quiet, and never have any issues with it. It's been through multiple moves, lan parties, swapped between computers, etc. It's probably the most solid drive I've owned to date.

I have had eight of these drives in a RAID5 array for over a year now without any issues. I have only had 5 sectors out of eight drives re-allocated in that time.
