Just picked one of these puppies up off newegg, should be here in by Wednesday. This seems like the perfect heatsink for low level cases such as HTPC and mATX...I did a bit of snooping around, and apparently it will fit in my ThermalTake Lanbox...without a millimeter to spare! It should fix snug between my mobo/proc and my PSU...or at least I sure hope so! :p

Anyone else tried out this cooler yet? What can I expect?

I was going to order one for a new SG-01 build (picking it up tomorrow), but then ran across this:
We had to raise the CPU cooling fan a little in order to clear the Northbridge heatsink but otherwise this setup worked perfectly in several of our micro-ATX case designs. Cases such as our Silverstone SG-03 and SG-01 would not accept this heatsink due to height restrictions. In those cases we ended up utilizing the retail heatsinks.
:(

Yea, I just got mine in yesterday and put it in my SIlverstone HTPC case. Had about 20mm to spare. The only problem is, with my 680i MB, there was only one way to install it and it covers up one of the memory slots.

I had to juggle my memory around. I used a 92mm fan though. I might try seeing how much of a difference the 80mm fan makes because I was looking to having 4gb memory. The 92mm fan drops down far enough to blow air over the heatsink they have sitting on top of the copper CPU plate so I thought it might help.

At 1.28v (3ghz lapped Q6600), I am getting 50c avg temp idle and 62c avg load. I do have a 80x15mm side fan blowing outside air on it thought and it does help.

Man, the other day when I ordered mine from FrozenCPU, NewEgg did not have any Minis and now they have them in stock for $10 less. BAH!

how does this actually perform? I'm building a C2Q system with light overclocking in mind, and I'm trying to avoid the massive full-size Ninja - don't want to stress the board/etc, as I killed one once with a CNPS7000 way back when.

So far on my system, it's performing nicely.

With the space restrictions and all, I'm getting 50idle and 63load on a Q6600 B3 at 1.28v 3ghz. Seems to be pretty good considering.

So did it fit nicely?
I have a lanbox lite myself...and planning to get the ninja too.
Would like to also know what are your temps?

My other choice is the NT06-lite....but still not sure if that'll fit in the lanbox...but i'm guessing it should since it's nearly the same size as the sg01.

Well, I have to say, I like it. It doesn't actually fit in the lanbox though...kind of had to force my PSU down and bend my mobo... *whistles*

But its in! And really, REALLY snug. My temps have dropped by about 15c from the copper-cored C2D stock cooler I was using, so I'd have to say its worth it. Looks damn good too boot. :)
