Just got a scythe ninja but i broke the stock backplate when i tightened the screws too hard.
i tried to use the ninja backplate but the cross shape won't align perfectly flat with the back of my Asus A8n-Sli board. There are three inductors right under the CPU socket and under each of them on the other side (bottom) of the board has raised metal bumps. One arm of the ninja backplate lands right on top of the metal bumps from the middle inductor.

is my best bet to get another socket 939 backplate? Anyone know where to get these cheap?

Damn hercules! What did you do!

lol, guess i dont know my own strength :D

let me know if ya find any sites with good backplate prices

are you sure you aren't putting the backplate on backwards? the sticky side with the foam should be touching the back of the motherboard, so that you can just squash over those bumps and not crush them.

I noticed the top bracket was no different than the one I have for my XP90. I just left all that gear on. It uses the standard Athlon backplate. What do they just not give the right screws to use with the athlon kit? Wow. I never even used there back plate. The ninja packaging makes me think they'd be harder to get a hold of. Like you just stepped out of china town. Call thermalright and ask how much a set of replacement stuff would go for... lol. Or just try the regular amd athlon one if it too fits. Makes no difference if it fits.

You know i thought of that too but it didnt feel right..maybe its just me, i dont like the idea of it not being nice and flat. since the ninja is large i thought it be better to have good contact

Isn't the A8n-SLi a 939 board? You should be able to use the stock backplate and mounting bracket I think. I have an MSI Neo4 Platinum SLi, and I used all the original hardware to install my Ninja.

I don't know how you used the same top part, but yeah.. definitely try the bottom one like I'm doing.
