Alright, I happened upon a couple SCSI Raid 0,1,5 controllers and about 10 semi-old (10,000 RPM 18GB & 36GB) HDD's the other day and, after powering a couple up, I can definately say that I'm going to need to build an external enclosure for them. Wow, that scream can get annoying / headache-inducing! Anyway, I was wondering if the only thing I had to do was
A: get power to them (somehow... extra psu?) and
B: connect a regular SCSI cable to the outside port of the controller card?
If so, this should probably be a breeze, but if there's more to it, I'm not in the mood to go buy a dremel just to cut up my case to allow cables to run in/out. I'm looking for a modular solution, in case I want to move the external box to a different computer/location someday. Any general knowledge/help/advice on anything relating to this project would be quite nice! ;
