Screen color difference

I have 2 Asus VH242H monitors one connected via hdmi and the other via hdmi to dvi adapter.

Will this make the shades of white a different color?

These monitors have different modes for different things and currently both are on standard mode.

I have tried changing the modes to see if I could get the colors/shades to match but no luck so far. Thoughts?
 
You may need to go into custom mode and adjust the RGB sliders until you have a matched set. Even the IPS panels I use all vary from panel to panel and need calibration to make the colors match.
 
ok thanks. just wasn't sure if it was the connection that was the issue or settings or possibly faulty scrren. i'll have to adjust it when i have some more free time.
