Screen Blurring Software?

OK, I saw this on the Travel Channel, and I MUST have it. They were talking about how on an airplane, everyone is always trying to see what you are doing on your laptop. They showed this software that, at one keystroke, would completely blurr your screen beyond readability. Then, when the nosey individual finally got off your shoulder, the same keystroke would un-blurr your display so you could continue work. Sadly, I can't remember what the software was called, who made it, or anything. I tried google, but found nothing. If anyone could help me find this software, I would SO appreciate it. You get a precious little ammount of privacy when you are in a family of seven and everyone's computer is in the same room.

Type "hide your screen" into Google. Should solve at least one of your problems.

NOT what you think. All of us are home-schooled, and so everyone is always typing something on the computer. If I am typing an english paper, I am subjected to the comments and suggestions of every passerbyer who feels compelled to read my paper over my shoulder and offer their suggestions. Especially annoying when it's a topic they have no idea about. (Or when the little brother spots a typo. Now THAT'S annoying.)

Maybe an off angle hardware blur would be better?

One of those privacy filters would be a much better choice - there's nothing stopping said nosy jackass from looking back at your screen when you unblur it, plus I'd get as annoyed constantly blurring my screen waiting for people to stop looking.

The privacy filters work really well, I've seen them on computer screen at airports and police stations. They look like one of those anti-glare screens you put over your monitor; when you look straight on they're transparent but as your viewing angle increases they darken and past maybe 15 or 20 degrees they become completely opaque. The only downside is that even straight on they slightly darken the screen, maybe 10-15%.

also there are 5 of u home schooled? 5 diff pcs? how u like that home schooling?


oh yeah, and it doesnt sound like one of the filters would work for him guys sounds like the person is standing over his shoulder type of thing so in other words its same angle as his head.

I wouldn't want to make any compromises for that...Hotkeying a screen blanker would be more obvious to whoever is spying on the screen, but it would still get the job done!

There might also be attachments that go on the sides and top of the screen, similar to what they use in desktops to block out ambient light.
