So here we go, i have a sattelite dish about 2 meters in diameter, and i was hoping for some suggestions as to what i can use it for, i kinda hoped, maybe things likes free tv or wifi, but i have neither the know-how nor the skill to set something like that up, i would like to start from the basic, and go from there, so if you could help me out with:

1. Finding uses for my satelite
2. Getting things like free wifi(if that is even possible)
3. What sorf of hardware will i need to even make it operational, for example, what will i need to do to even make it work

this might be just a load of c**p, but if anyone has any ideas, please do help.

With the right receiver, the dish could be used to get some unencrypted TV; most of it is non-english, but here's a list of english channels http://www.ftalist.com/english.php (disclaimer, I've looked into this a couple of times, but never actually done it; the selection of channels doesn't really match what my wife wants to watch; we put up an antenna for local broadcasts instead) The rest of the hardware you'd need to buy is probably enough that a free dish doesn't make the deal.

You can use the dish to focus a wifi transmission if you have a need for a directional point to point link; but that's not really going to get you free wifi unless you have something to point at. You'd want to make sure you're following radio emissions limits from the FCC or whoever the regulator is in your country.

You could paint "we're listening" on the dish and point it at your neighbors.
