I have recently bought a Samsung 120gig SATA harddrive and a
Soltek SL-75FRN2-RL motherboard. This is my first time using SATA and I cannot seem to get windows to install on this drive. My BIOS recognizes it because I set it up as RAID 0.
Heres what I did:
I hit F6 to install the 3rd party RAID controller. Then I hit 'S' and selected the one for Windows XP. I hit enter again and it continued the windows installation. After it finished copying all the files it said "Set up cannot locate: fasttx2k.sys" then it asked me to hit 'enter' to retry or 'escape' to ignore this file.I hit 'enter' multiple times and it still didn't work. So, I finally gave up and just hit 'escape' to ignore this file and it gave the same prompt
three more times for three separate files. The other three were:
> ptipbmf.dll
> fasttx2k.inf
> and
> fasttx2k.cat
after i ignored those files and rebooted windows it would come up to
the XP loading screen and would
go to a blue screen stating that there is a problem with my hard
drive, which I am positive is not true.
Do you know how I can resolve this issue? Or is there a way I can just not use RAID all together and just install windows on this drive?
This motherboard has an nVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 + MCP chipset.
Thanks guys, please if you can help me I would greatly appriciate it. I have been up for 8 hours straight trying to get this to work
