SATA Problem with Plextor-716

[poowilliams]

I tried searching for help in previous threads but i couldnt find anything that helped me.

I have a asus K8V-SE Deluxe motherboard. It has two raid controllers; the Promise20378 and the VT8237. I have 2 raptors running in RAID-0 on the VT and i placed the Plextor 716 in the primary sata connection on the Promise controller.

During boot a Promise screen came up and failed to find anything then refused to boot.

If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.

i got your back dog.

the promise20378 controller on your mobo is un-able to run in non-raid mode thus won't detect any optical sata drive. as far as the VIA goes, which isn't far, it sucks. it will detect optical sata drives but only run them in POS mode or some shit. all you have to do is go buy an adaptec1205, plug that fucker in, and then jam that cable in the bitch.
