I am starting a new project of re-wiring everything in my case, and I want to make all the cables myself for fun. Has anyone used these connectors before? To me it looks like you don't need a crimping tool, you just push a section of bare wire into the slots. I can't find any information on installation for them though.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what connectors to use?

Look like a Bix connector for Phone/Network cabling. You shouldn't have to strip the wire at all if I'm right. The metal contacts should cut through the casing enough to make contact.
 
just used those yesterday.

basically just line up your wire (unstripped) and shove it through with a slot screw driver the metal "cuts" the insulation and exposes wire, then you just snap in the cover, looks really nice.
