im about to install a SATA hd....im planning to have 1 sata and 1 ide..my question is what do i set the IDE jumpers to??
 
Leave them as they are, they have no effect on SATA drives.
If you wish to boot the SATA drive you need to change the boot order in the CMOS.
 
ok..cool now how do i install it if i dont have a floppy drive....i heard theres a way to bypass this.....and plus there wasnt a floppy with it.....but i know windows ask for a floppy....when you install windows
 
Depends on your motherboards, some of the newer ones are plug and play as install the HD and the board will detect it. Other models require a floppy or you could burn the drivers onto a CD and boot from the cd-rom drive.
 
It appears you are just adding the drive to an existing Windows installation.
If so, download the SATA/RAID drivers and install them before plugging the drive in.

As amdfan said, you may not even need any extra drivers.
Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.
 
well im going to reinstall windows on my new SATA drive and then use my hd the currently has windows for a 2nd drive without windows. for like movies and music
