i just a got an sata harddrive and i noticed that it has legacy power, and sata power....

i can use Legacy power right?

will tha make it not go as fast?
or theres really no difference

afaik, using the legacy power will not affect the speed at all. but then again, i have no sata harddrives and just got my first mobo with sata last week.

......but if you forget to buy fire works on the 4th of july then its always fun to plug both in at the same time to see what happens :D

Yeah, DEFINITELY do not plug both power connectors in. AFAIK Only Western Digital's drives have both SATA power and Legacy power. My Seagate drive only has SATA power (no problem for me since I have 2 SATA power connectors on my PSU) Enjoy the wicked fast load times you'll get with SATA.
