Can you ghost WinXP Pro from a IDE drive to SATA drive. I want the SATA as the main drive in system and don't want to reinstall windows.

Maybe.

Make sure you have any drivers that your SATA controller may require installed before ghosting to an SATA drive. You may also need ntdetect.com. If you have ICH5R or newer on an Intel system, or nForce3 or newer on an AMD box, and are not running RAID, you shouldn't need to worry about this, as the generic ATA drivers built into Windows XP should work fine. Install SP2 first, at a minimum.

MaxBlast install cd copied the entire 80gb IDE over to the Maxtor SATA drive without a glitch including Windows. SATA is running great and boot times got a lot faster....woohoo :D
