Ok guys, total weaksauce. I finally got around to booting up the rig I just re-wired, and found out there is a problem. I am using a different SATA chip now, and I think there are driver conflicts. It boots to the "Windows shut down unexpectedly, what version of windows do u want to boot?" screen, and then shuts down.
Besides changing back to the other chip for SATA control, what should I do? I would assume I need to reformat, but that would be a PITA.
But I really want to use the bottom SATA ports instead of the ones in the middle of the board like I was using previously due to cable management reasons. I have an IDE drive twice the size I can copy my data to for backup/ghosting or whatever, but I want to use the SATA drive as the main.... just because it is sata
.
Btw, I am using a WD 120GB Caviar, and the Mobo is a Abit KV8-Max3.
