Hey guys, I am running two maxtors 80gb SATA drives....I was cleaning out my comp today..took the drives out. and put them back in..teh sata cables are kinda messed up...I bent them like 49754937394 degrees....can this be teh reason Ikeep on getting corruptions..? thnx!

In a word, yes. Look into shielded sata cables, or just route the wires differently.

Just how bad is it? Pics? Mine's pretty badly bent in the service of cable hiding, but no problems with it over the last 6 mos.

I'll try to get some pics...lol......they are really bad..I bent them like 360 degrees and stuff.and I threw them behind the mobo...and O yah, I painted them black with some car paint...lol...

wow< i just searched the web..and this seems maxtor related..where those maxtor drives wont format....freaking maxtor..I knew I should've payed the extra 5 bucks @ the beginning for the western digital...bs.....good thing it wasn't my storage drive...only the windows..I guess I will keep trying to get it to format...happened last tim too....freakiong spent 3 hours last night trying to fix it..and 2 hours this morning...blah...
anyone got any suggestions??? when I try to reformat it in the windows setup..it says setup cannot complete format disk may be damage... and it shows the partition as Partition [Unknown] instead of Partition NTFS BLAH! I am getting fed up..
