Could having and out dated driver for the controller result in laggy and scratchyness in your audio and overall performance?

I had a brand new raptor 74gb that just recently crapped out on me. While it was working my audio was good and I just recieved my new/refurb raptor and its loud as hell and the audio is now lagging, skipping and really scratchy.

Someone told me it could be the controller driver, is this true? I got the latest one through the windows updates and the one from DFI's website.

Are you using the same driver as you had with your original Raptor? If so it sounds like the replacement drive they sent you may be bunk.

yea im using the same drivers, i guess it is bunk. shit this sucks
