I've got a strange problem with my sata drives. I'm using the dfi p965 currently with the ich8r.
I'm occupying sata1/2/3 currently with 3 drives. 2 wd 500gb's (1 ys, 1 ks), and 1 samsung s203b sata.
In the past, all drives showed as udma5. However, I've noticed a few days ago, the dvdrw went to multiword dma2. Then today, the 2nd wd 500gb went to multiword dma2 as well.
In the past, I've had problems with the first 500gb going down to udma2.
What's going on???
hdtach shows no loss in benchmark performance.
Edit: I was wrong about the drives. Both wd 500gb's are in multiword dma2 mode. The samsung dvdrw is the only drive in udma5.
