SATA advantage if not doing a RAID array?

I know that SATA is supposed to be faster than Ultra ATA 100 or 133. I read a review/comparo in PC Modder (CPU mag) that tests all different types of drives and in real world benchies there wasn't much diff. if any. I got some massive deal on a 160 GB Ultra 100 and got home before I realized I wanted an SATA. Now I'm trying to decide if I should return it for an SATA. If there's much of a diff. I'll get an SATA. I really only care about gaming FPS and secondarily load times.
 
If it was such a good deal then keep that for your p0rn...:p
And get a single 74 gig raptor for your OS / Games.

SATA doesn't mean squat yet. If you roll down to the bank and get a debit card that allows maximum daily withdrawals of $2000, yet you have only $800 in your account, is it worth it? Same deal with SATA, the drives just aren't capable of pushing 150MB/s of data yet, much less over 100-133MB/s of old PATA.
 
The big advantage of SATA drives right now is the smaller cabling.
 
Snuggles, that's what I thought (hope the little lady isn't looking over my shoulder). I've bought some round cables in a pack; I'm guessing I can use those. One less trip to the store.
